    The small Grohmann hut is located southeast below the Teplitzer hut on a field cockpit in a beautiful panoramic position high above the sandy soil. The easiest ascent leads from the mining museum in the valley of the Ridnauntal along the Fernerbaches to the natural monument Aglsboden with the quaint Aglsbodenalm. Over a terrain level up to the Upper Aglsfälle and through the deeply cut Egatal to the rustic Grohmannhütte. On the way back, the return migration through the Burkhard Klamm is recommended as a welcome change shortly after Aglsboden.

      The hut was built in 1887 by the Teplitz section of the DuÖAV Teplitzer Hütte and opened on 27th August. In winter 1887/88 the hut was completely destroyed by a storm. As a result, the Bohemian industrialist Theodor Grohmann financed a new building for 1,534 florins, which was named after him. The new, though smaller, hut opened on 14th August 1889. After the First World War, the cottage was expropriated by the Italian State and handed over to the CAI Sterzing section. After having stood empty for a few years and falling into disrepair, a complete refurbishment took place between 1998 and 2000.
      Together with 24 other state-dispossessed huts, Grohmannhütte became the property of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano-Alto Adige in 1999; at the end of 2010, the concession expired for its management by the CAI. Since 2015, the province of South Tyrol has been involved in the management of the hut (assignment to tenants, supervision of the management, remedial measures)
