        These are two bunker ruins of the Regelbau 10 type.
        The Regelbau 10 is the most frequently built bunker variant on the Siegfried Line with over 3000 pieces. The attached fighting area of the bunker could be adapted to the respective terrain conditions during construction and thus ensured a high degree of flexibility during construction. The muzzle (size 60 x 35 cm) of the fighting area made of concrete and sheet steel proved to be disadvantageous, and was included in the planning of the west wall due to the shortage of materials.
        Despite the reduced combat value due to the Maulscharte, these systems offered better protection from the weather, artillery fire and rifle fire than field-like positions or shelters, which was not insignificant in terms of the morale of the soldiers.
        In the military doctrine of the late 1930s, fighting outside the facilities was favored in order to ensure the dynamism of one's own troops. The attached fighting area with its heavy machine gun was used on the one hand as an alarm post to protect the bunker crew and on the other hand it served as a fighting post (mostly flanking) for fire support for the own crew during firefights.
