The Buchberg is a 469 meter high mountain on the municipal border between Maria Anzbach and Neulengbach in Lower Austria. On its summit stands the Buchbergwarte, an observation tower that on clear days offers a view from the Schneeberg in the south to the Traunstein in the west.

Below, the Buchberg refuge invites you to linger, unfortunately it was closed because of Corona. There were a few curious and very tame goats romping around next to it when I visited.

On the refuge's homepage I saw that there is also the official MTB route "Laurenzistrecke" (but I didn't ride it), here is the link: buchberg.co.at/joomlaneu/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=24&Itemid=61

But the Buchberg is probably very busy at peak times in summer, so it might be better to stop by at off-peak times.
