To commemorate the anniversary of the death of King Ludwig II, the votive chapel was built between 1896 and 1900 above the spot where the regent was found dead. A wooden cross marks the spot in the lake. Every year, on the Sunday after June 13, the anniversary of the death, a memorial service is held at the Votive Chapel. The St. Ludwig Memorial Chapel can be easily reached from Berg in around 15 minutes. The beautiful view of Lake Starnberg invites you to linger.
