After a short construction period, the Niederbergbahn Panorama Cycle Path was officially opened on July 16, 2011. While we initially accompanied the progress of the route construction, we now focus on using the route for bicycle traffic. How well the path is accepted became clear when counting on 10/3/11. On the route from Bergische Diakonie to Kettwig alone, we met exactly 700 cyclists. Still, it didn't get tight. On this page you will find a wide range of information from travel routes and accessibility by public transport to tour suggestions and sights.

The Niederbergbahn runs from Aprath am Koxhof to Kettwig in front of the bridge and on the branch to Wülfrath-Rohdenhaus over old railway lines. The very scenic connection route towards the corkscrew route is now also well signposted. Since the Niederbergbahn threaded through the Wuppertal-Essen line, which is now used by the S 9, this is not a former railway line. The map, which is available in the ADFC information boxes at the end of the Koxhof route or at the end of the corkscrew route, provides an overview of the route. (As long as stocks last, we cannot refill the boxes every day!). Since May 2012 there is also an extensive brochure that shows the route with lots of detailed information. It can be downloaded here and is included in the information package.
