The Latin text on the triumphal arch of the sanctuary says, "set for sacred purposes by Count Antal Apponyi, 1842." The black marble plaque on the right side of the sanctuary facing the ship was placed by his son in memory of his father (1823). Built in the Classicist style, the present church is an architecturally and structurally outstanding church in the area. It was renovated in 1899 and 1966. The new liturgical space was built in 1974 with an erecting altar, ambo and baptismal font. The two manual organs of the church were made in the workshop of the Anyster organ factory in Pécs in 1927.
