    The almost 100 meter arched bridge for pedestrians and cyclists connects Fechenheim and the local recreation area in the Main bend between the Offenbach districts of Bürgel and Rumpenheim. The Main crossing was built in 1981 primarily as a pipeline connection to connect the Offenbach plant of the Hoechst plant to the Cassella AG chemical plant in Frankfurt-Fechenheim and its infrastructure.
    The footbridge is named after the chemist Arthur von Weinberg, who was born in Frankfurt in 1860 and who headed the Cassella color works in Fechenheim during the first three decades of the 20th century. After 1933, the Nazi rulers pushed him out of all his positions and offices - among other things, Weinberg was an honorary senator of the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main - and banned him from the city's social life. In 1942 Weinberg was deported to the Theresienstadt concentration camp, where he died a year later as a result of a medical intervention.
