The last, short climb to the summit is steep, but is rewarded with a fantastic view of the Grossarl Valley and the Hohe Tauern!
If you are heading north to the Tappenkarsee Hut: make sure you have enough water on hot summer days. The path is long and offers no shade for a rest or a place to replenish fluids!

A very nice tour from the end of the valley in Hüttschlag. However, the path is very long. Up to the Murtörl you walk for a long time parallel to a stream, so there is plenty of opportunity to refill water. From Murtörl it becomes a little more difficult and the last climb to the summit cross is very steep and hardly noticeable, few hiking markings and no clearly recognizable path. The view is worthwhile when the weather is nice. You can see as far as the Hochalmspitze, Ankogel.
