On March 29, 1908, the foundation stone for the construction of the Häuschen Tower, which no longer exists today, was laid “at the Häuschen”. The builder was the Eifelverein Ahrweiler e.V. On May 11, 1908, the 20-meter-high observation tower, which stands at a height of 507 meters, was inaugurated. In the final phase of the Second World War, a Wehrmacht radio station was housed in the tower. In the spring of 1945, the wooden tower was burned down. On September 30, 1956, a new tower was inaugurated, but only remnants of it remain. The viewing platform offered a panoramic view of the Eifel with the Ahr Mountains (Ahreifel), to Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler, to the Siebengebirge and Westerwald.
