The Groeneveld windmill in the Dutch town of Schipluiden was built in 1719 to replace an earlier wooden mill, which had burned down after a lightning strike. The mill is one of the few of many water mills that have survived in the municipality of Midden-Delfland. The mill has been owned by the Delfland Water Board since 1977 and, together with a screw pump, drains the Groeneveldse polder. Until 1960, the polder was drained solely on wind power. After the construction of a pumping station, the mill was shut down. The paddlewheel that lifts the water 1.90 m was equipped with an electric motor in the early 1980s, which is still functioning. The Groeneveld windmill is visible from a great distance and can be viewed when it is running. The mill is painted white on the land side.

In the Groeneveld mill is a house that was inhabited until the 1970s. In the miller's house there are, among other things, box beds and a pot stove. The tiled wall is made up of replicas of the original Delft Blue tiles. Visitors can get an impression of the living conditions of a miller's family. In the 1940s and 1950s, a miller lived here with his wife and ten children. The summer house in which they lived during the summer was demolished during the restoration of the mill due to dilapidation. The house next to the mill, which is inhabited by the miller and his family, is on the site of the original summer house.

Right next to the mill is a 'play mill' with three working mills, in which a number of mill tools grind, sieve and mix grain on a small scale. One of the three merry-go-rounds generates electricity for the lighting in the other two.
