        SIMULTAN CHURCH OF ST. PHILIPPUS AND JAMES VOGELBACH
        This is probably the historically most important church in the Verbandsgemeinde. Slightly younger than the Speyer Cathedral, St. Phillipus and Jakobus is one of the oldest and most beautiful cultural monuments in the Palatinate (built in 1131).
        In the early days the church was a hostel for pilgrims. An important "stopover" on the pilgrimage route to Saint James. - So it's no coincidence that the patron saints of the Vogelbach church are identical to those of the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
        As a hospital church, it also served all citizens for nursing. In 1672 the building was appointed as a simultaneous church. Since then, the use of the church by both Christian denominations has continued to this day!
        In 1986 it was included in the list of "protected cultural assets" of the "Hague Convention" and is also a registered "cultural monument".
