The Burg Town Hall on Fehmarn was built in 1901 for the town of Burg on Fehmarn, replacing the late medieval town hall dating back to 1520. The architect was Carl Voß from Kiel, and the total construction cost was 85,000 marks. The town hall was built as a solitary structure on the oval, approximately 200 m long and 70 m wide Burg Market Square using clinker brick construction. It housed the town's administrative offices, the jail, and the apartments of the mayor and police sergeant. A small farmyard served as a prison yard. The building is listed as a historical monument in the Ostholstein district.

I didn't know until just now that the architect of the town hall came from Kiel 🙃... But did you know that the artist "Burmester" came from Kiel-Möltenort and painted the almost 380-year-old town hall in oil...?
The painting was presented to the town of Burg as a gift and still hangs today as the most beautiful decoration in the council chamber 😚...
