Göttingen has very beautiful half-timbered houses that you don't necessarily notice at first glance.
At least, that's how it was for me. 😊. The most beautiful half-timbered houses, with their sculptures and inscriptions, can only be discovered if you let your gaze wander upwards.

The Black Bear in Göttingen is a half-timbered house from the Renaissance period (built around 1590 as a residential building), which housed the inn "Zum Schwarzen Bären" until 2011. It is one of the oldest inns in Germany and is located at Kurze Straße 12. (...) In 1934, the building became the property of the Municipal Brewery and belonged to the Einbeck Brewery until 2011. During renovation work in 2002, a 14th-century vaulted cellar was discovered. In 2014, the building was gutted, revealing a Gothic hall.
