Several mills belonged to Gut Stockheim: the so-called "Neue Mühle", the "Hardieksmühle" (both in the peasantry Oesterweg) and the Stockheimer Hausmühle, located directly opposite the property. Not only grain was ground here: Historically it is known that the house mill also had a so-called Bokemahlwerk. So the Loxten peasants brought flax and hemp here to break the fibers with the power of the water. The cultivation of flax and hemp and the further processing to linen were among the most important fields of activity of the Versmold farmers.

The current mill building, an imposing two-storey half-timbered building, was built in 1831 after the previous building burned down. In 1867 Gut Stockheim, including the mill, became the property of the miller Westenhoff and a partner. The new operator sold large parts of the estate, but he operated the mill from now on. Today, the property is used for residential purposes.
