    The Four Towers are an ensemble of four historic buildings in the old town of Koblenz, at the intersection of the streets Am Plan - Löhrstraße - Altengraben - Marktstraße.

      The four towers are an ensemble of four historical buildings in the old town at the intersection of the streets Am Plan - Löhrstraße - Altengraben - Marktstraße. The name four towers is derived from a richly decorated bay window attached to each house.
      The predecessor buildings of the later four towers were built in 1608. They all fell victim to the destruction of the Palatinate War of Succession in 1688. The four buildings of today's ensemble were built:
      Am Plan 2: 1692 (destroyed in 1944, reconstruction in 1950)
      Löhrstraße 2: 1691 (damaged in 1944, restored in 1960)
      Marktstrasse 1: 1690
      Marktstrasse 2: 1689 (destroyed in 1944, rebuilt in 1949/50)

        The four houses with the ornate bay towers were built in 1608 and, after being destroyed in 1688, were restored between 1689 and 1692, probably according to plans by Johann Christoph Sebastiani, and the bay windows were renewed. Some of the houses are labeled: "Zu Sankt Petrus" (1691), "Zum Grünen Baum" (1692) and "Hauptwache" (1690, Eckhaus Marktstrasse / Plan). Originally there were three-story houses with half-timbered upper floors and two gables each. Today there is a richly decorated, two-storey stone bay window facing the street with a lantern crown.
