A Renaissance castle in the middle of the floodplain forest!
The castle complex in the Auwald is a fine example of the German early Renaissance and was built between 1530 and 1555 as "Old Building" and "New Building". In the "old building" with high stair gables and tower with brightly glazed bricks we find the most important secular Renaissance frescoes in Bavaria.
