The Kneipp spa garden "Prinze Gumpe", which was newly created in 1998, is located in the middle of Hinterstein. The residents spent many hours converting the old swimming pool into this wonderful mountain pool with a water treading facility, an arm basin and the opportunity to tread dew. The entire pond system is designed so that the water cleans itself, and water from the nearby mountain stream is also fed in, which is heated by the sun via the stone slabs on the ground.
Prince Regent Luitpold of Bavaria liked to bathe in a small pond ("Gumpe" in Allgäu dialect) on the Zipfelsbach below the waterfall, hence the name of our mountain pool. In summer, young and old alike like to meet here in the water or to enjoy sunbathing on the surrounding meadows.
Opening times: daily in summer
Admission is free, but we are happy to accept donations to maintain the facility.
