    On a small hill on the outskirts of Ramsen stands the small chapel, the so-called Erlöserkapelle. From up here you have a beautiful view of the village.

      Under the canopy of the chapel there is a small bench with a beautiful view.
      On the pedestal of the altar are the words: "Erected in memory of the soldiers who fell and missing in the war out of gratitude for a happy return home - 1980".

      This small chapel on the Lehrberg was donated by Franziska and Franz Hoffmann from Ramsen. Franz Hoffmann had the idea for this during his time as a soldier in the Second World War - in the Stalingrad pocket and during his subsequent 6 years as a prisoner of war in Russia. There he vowed to build a chapel above Ramsen if he would return home safely.
      After his happy return home, Franziska and Franz Hoffmann had this small chapel built - in memory of all fallen and missing soldiers. It was completed in 1980. The parish of Ramsen provided the property free of charge.
      Every month of May there is a catholic church service in the open air.
