The country cut by the Kiel Canal is connected here by means of a ferry. The ferry times are from 6:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. as required. Can also be used as a pedestrian or cyclist. Cyclists have to get off and push the bike.

Use of the ferry is free.

For many years a “chain ferry” performed reliable services here. This ferry pulled itself across the canal on an underwater chain. In the meantime, however, it has been separated and can now be viewed on the bank next to the eastern landing stage.
