        The Mödlinger Karner has served as a bell tower for more than three hundred years. The roof turret on the mighty roof of the Othmarkirche is not suitable for holding large bells.         In 1690 it was decided to raise the "old bell tower" because a new bell tower would have been too expensive. In 1698 the construction of the baroque tower with a double onion roof was completed.
