The manor house was built in 1727 in the Régence style, a variety of French rococo. It's a Maison de Plaisance, a pleasure palace. It was built by the von Wartensleben noble dynasty, who had a great influence on Prussian-German history.

The castle-like manor house in the middle of the village, also known as the Edelhof, was the ancestral home of the Eckersten (Exten) family in the Middle Ages.
