The nature conservation station Zippendorf is located on the southern shore of Lake Schwerin, opposite the islands of Rabbit Werder and Ziegelwerder. This is composed of the nature conservation associations NABU and BUND and the zoo Schwerin, the national association of beekeepers e. One of the focal points of Zippendorf nature conservation station is the environmental education work with children in day care centers, schools and hoarding, as well as the care and landscape management on the islands rabbit and brick Werder in cooperation with the city of Schwerin. The permanent exhibition "Lebensraum Schweriner See" offers insights into life on and around Lake Schwerin.
