The park was given the name of the sculptor Georg Kolbe in 1957. Kolbe had his house and his studio nearby. Today you will find the Georg Kolbe Museum here and Café K in his former home. In the overgrown park, which runs in an ice age gully, there are 5 larger-than-life figures by the artist. All figures were only completed by the Noack foundry after the artist's death. The designs date from the time of National Socialism.
The park has been a listed building since 1989.
