    Altenburg-Nobitz airfield is one of the most important airfields for western Saxony and eastern Thuringia. With its central location in the Altenburger Land between the cities of Leipzig, Chemnitz and Gera, the existing infrastructure and the almost unlimited usability thanks to ILS Cat I all-weather flight operations, the airfield is an important location for business aviation and general aviation. Due to the short distances and no restrictions regarding night flights (possible at any time after prior registration), the airport is ideal for business trips to western Saxony, eastern Thuringia and the greater Leipzig area.
