Ilsenburg is a wonderful little town surrounded by mountains, with a lot of history. Of course, a legend should not be missing here either, typical of the regions in the Harz and therefore always mythical. In 2002, Ilsenburg even became a recognized climatic health resort.
Numerous hikes can be undertaken from Ilsenburg (to the Brocken, monastery hike, border hike, etc.). You can also go on holiday by car, as much of the town can be hiked on foot or the Ilsetaler bus and public transport can take you to the starting point for a hike. Since the Hatix is included in the tourist tax, the means of transport do not cost extra.

In Ilsenburg there is a private stamp box at a house that can be printed into the hiking pass as a special stamp. A great idea and only found by chance.
