At the foot of the mountain lies the village of Stocksberg, which became part of Württemberg in the 15th century and became part of Beilstein. The hilltop, with the Stocksberg hunting lodge and the Seizengehren forest below it on the southwest slope, remained in the possession of the Counts of Löwenstein and remains an exclave of the town of Löwenstein to this day.
