                                        A very nice viewpoint at the end of the well-developed path from the cable car station. From here you can look down to the lower crater of Pico Viejo - although it is about 600m lower than Teide (still the second highest volcano on Tenerife), it has a much larger and more impressive crater with a diameter of about 800m. If the visibility is good, you can also see La Palma, La Gomera, El Hierro and Gran Canaria from here - and of course the Teide peak.

                                        A hiking trail also starts from here over to Pico Viejo and from there down into the caldera to the Roques de Garcia - but we hadn't planned anything like that on this day.
