Cruz do Cume Lampenschweine

You can quickly walk past the summit cross Lampenschweine rest area on the Ibacher Panoramaweg if you don't look to the side. Just a few steps from the Schluchtensteig you have a very special view in all directions. A rotating bench can be turned in the direction you want and allowed to roast in the sun.

By the way: “Lamp pigs” are not glowing pigs!
The name has nothing to do with pigs. It is a type of deforestation. And “Lamp” means lamb. On the Allmend pastureland (168 hectares), where all farmers could drive their sheep, pigs, goats and cattle, the lovely cattle ensured clean grazing.

What a fantastic rest stop, with a magnificent view of the Alps to the south and the Black Forest with a view of the Feldberg to the north.
Plus, a bench and a lounger.

This summit cross is at an altitude of 1100m. You have a great view in all directions. In the north you can see Herzogenhorn, Feldberg and Seebuck, among others.
In the south the Swiss Alps🇨🇭.
There is an orientation board in both directions. There are several benches and a wellness lounger available for your enjoyment.
If you walk along the “Ilbacher Panoramaweg” you are at its highest point.
