Historically, the castle is one of the most important fortifications in the Sauerland. Old drawings from the 18th and 19th centuries still show the walls as towering ruins.
Next to her, the war memorial and a memorial for peace were inaugurated in 1924. The ground plan of the old castle emerged from the beginning of construction work (1922/23).
It's a beautiful and quiet place with a fantastic view of the surrounding countryside.
