                Stamping point 42 / Trogfurther Bridge
                The stamping station at Trogfurther Bridge (425 m above sea level) is located on the dam wall of the Königshütte transfer barrier.

                For many centuries, the Trogfurther Bridge over the Bode was an important part of the trade route from Italy over the Harz Mountains to Scandinavia. At this point, a ford was first mentioned as a "trough path" in 919.

                In the years around 1740, the Trogfurther Bridge was built from rubble stones, which probably came from a watchtower of the Susenburg. A few days before the end of World War II, this bridge was blown up by the SS on April 14, 1945.

                The successor structure, a bridge made of reinforced concrete and wood, became superfluous after the construction of the crossing barrier was completed on August 24th, 1956. The dam wall, which is also used today to cross the Bode, is a few meters east of the former Trogfurther Bridge.

                From the hiking car park below the ruins of the Königsburg HWN 41, follow the northern route in the direction of Rübeland and pass the confluence of the Warmen Bode and the Kalten Bode to the Trogfurther Bridge.
