In 1713, an inn was built to accommodate and entertain pilgrims, which still exists at this location today.

During the French Revolution after 1800, pilgrimage came to a standstill and the pilgrimage chapel became orphaned.

In 1842 the chapel was demolished and parts of the church were used to build the new parish church in Sasbachwalden. The altar of the Trinity Chapel from Sasbacher Hochfeld can still be seen in this church today.

In 1843 the site was purchased by the von Harder family, who had the “Lindenhaus” built on it. Sophie von Harder was a great benefactor for Sasbach and the surrounding area.

After 1950, the Lindenhaus fell further into disrepair and burned down in 1982.

The site has been privately owned since 1998 and the remaining utility building, the Lindenhaus, has been lovingly restored into a stately country house.
