Next to the monument to the Izmailovsky Regiment is a column monument to the Life Guards of the Artillery Brigade, crowned with an eight-pointed Orthodox cross. A gray granite column rises on a pyramidal base, composed of roughly processed granite boulders. The monument is decorated with cannonballs - at the corners of the pedestal and at the corners of the fence, as well as at the top under the cross. On the verge of the foundation there are memorial plaques with lists of the Knights of St. George from the brigade who distinguished themselves in the campaign of 1812-1814. In 1812, foot artillery, brought together in the Life Guards Artillery Brigade, was attached to the Guards Infantry Division. It is no accident that the monuments to the Izmailovsky Guards Regiment and the Guards Artillery Brigade stand nearby. On the day of the Borodino battle, both the guards infantry and the guards artillery acted hand in hand, clearly and harmoniously, defending a very important line on the left flank - the Semyonov heights. In the “battle of the giants”, Russian artillery was stronger than enemy artillery. No wonder Fyodor Nikolaevich Glinka, a participant in the battle, called Borodin's day "the day of Russian artillery."
