The “Durchs Schleidtal” hiking trail is rich in highlights. The Bad Münstereifel spa park welcomes you at the beginning and at the end of the tour. The wonderfully babbling Schleidbach runs through the park and takes us into the picturesque Schleidbach Valley. The near-natural Schleidbach is part of the Bad Münstereifeler Wald nature reserve. A wide variety of woodpecker species, red kites and kingfishers live here.

The primeval forest "Am Dicken Baum" is a stand of beech trees on the Haarscheider Kopf, which shows the original state of the Eifel forests. The forest office has designated this area as a primeval forest parcel. Any human intervention is prohibited here, so that the forest can develop completely by itself.

The fallow deer garden is open all year round and does not cost any admission. There is no fence between the visitors and the animals. In this way the animals can be experienced up close. Dogs are not permitted in the fallow deer garden.
