The Antoniusgrotte is located in the Alzenau city forest.
An approximately 150 m long stream runs through the grounds of the Antonius Grotto. It rises about a hundred meters northeast of the grotto, then flows through a fish pond and then seeps into the sandy forest floor directly at the grotto.
In the spring of 1954, the grotto was built in honor of St. Anthony, out of gratitude for the returnees of the Fathers and Sons of Alzenau from the World War, and financed by voluntary donations from the entire Kahlgrund. A sculptor from Somborn created the 1.25 m high statue of St. Anthony made of shell limestone, which the baby Jesus carries in his arms. It stands on a base from which a gargoyle in the shape of a lion's head protrudes. The masonry is made of red sandstone from the Spessart.
The Antoniusgrotte was renovated from 2003 to 2006.
