At the Col de l'Iseran, at an altitude of over 2,764 meters, you'll be rubbing shoulders with giants. This pass is, in fact, the highest road pass in the Alps. In other words, it's a legendary destination for all experienced cyclists! It's only about ten meters higher than Italy's impressive Stelvio Pass, which peaks at 2,758 meters. At 2,764 meters, the Col de l'Iseran is the highest Alpine pass of all. Fantastically beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. Especially the driveway of Lanslebourg offers unforgettable views of the glaciers of the French Alps.
Fortunately, the restaurant was open and I was able to enjoy my usual French cafe as a reward for the ascent.
