Laxenburg Monastery is a Roman Catholic monastery of the Sisters of Mercy of the Holy Cross in Laxenburg in Lower Austria. Laxenburg Monastery is located near the Laxenburg Castle Park, which is the largest and one of the most important landscaped gardens in Austria. After its destruction in World War II, one of the two lions from 1872/1873 was transferred to the imperial train station in Laxenburg during the opening of the newly built Südbahnhof in 1959. The second lion continues to watch over the area of the newly opened main train station in 2014 - the now third station building!
