Gabrielahütten was never a large village; it had neither a church nor a cemetery. A one-room school was established in 1838, which closed in 1883. The village had two inns, whose owners also ran a butcher shop and a general store. Business was profitable in the summer, and the village was popular with tourists. In winter, however, the village was completely cut off from the outside world.

After the cessation of industrial production, only a few forest workers remained in the village. Most resettled in Kallich near Brandau. In 1945, after the expulsion of the German-speaking population and the forced resettlement of the Czechs living there, the village was no longer populated. The buildings were demolished in 1959.
