The Sperenberger Gipsbrüche are definitely worth a visit. The viewpoints overlooking the water and especially the third civil engineering with its great water quality have really inspired us. We were there after a heavy downpour, which made the way up and down much harder including landslide.
For strollers, the walk around the gypsum breaks rather not suitable. Even for toddlers rather difficult, then would have to be worn.

Before taking a walk through the beautiful landscape of the former Sperenberg gypsum quarries, it is worth visiting the Heimatstube. The highlight is definitely the model of the region at the time of the gypsum mining.
And precisely that - the gypsum mining - can be traced here, because the Boden-Geo-Path begins at Gipsstraße 12 in Sperenberg. It leads through a beautiful, idyllic landscape. It is sometimes hard to believe that this one has an eventful history to offer. Several display boards provide information about the formation and composition of the soil and the history of the landscape. They bring old times back to life and show how opencast mining landscapes can be transformed into the idyll in which the viewer is at the moment. So you hike on the former break edge of the gypsum mine, along today's panorama path to the highest point of the circular hiking trail, the 79.8 meter high Gipsberg.

The entire circular route through the former gypsum pits is 2.5 km long. The running time is approx. 2 hours. Longer with children, of course. Strollers should stay at home if possible, it is better to carry the little ones straight away. If you can walk well, the hike can also be extended - the circular route to the Klausdofer clay pits (4.5km long) can be easily integrated via a 2km long connecting path.
