After the Second World War, the port of Vlissingen-Oost was constructed, after which the port continued to grow. Since 1998 the port of Vlissingen has had a partnership with the port of Terneuzen. These two ports are known together as the Port of Zeeland, also known as the Zeeland Seaports.
