          Staw nad Skokiem (Slovak: pleso nad Skokom, German: Skoksee, formerly Nadskoksee, Hungarian: Szkok-tó, formerly Nadszkok-tó) - a lake located in the central part of the Młynicka Valley, in the Slovak part of the High Tatras. It is located at an altitude of 1,801 m above sea level. on a large, relatively flat terrace called Zadnia Polana. According to Józef Szaflarski's measurements from 1935, the pond had an area of 0.775 ha, dimensions 160 × 78 m and a depth of 2.3 m, according to measurements of TANAP employees from the 1960s, the pond area was 0.735 ha, dimensions 158 × 80 m, depth approx. 1.2 m. The pond is getting smaller and smaller because the stream flowing out of it cuts through its threshold.

          The name of the pond comes from the nearby Skok waterfall, created by water flowing from the pond. "Surge" in this case means a threshold or accumulation. Below the Pond nad Skokiem there is an outstanding rock threshold with a very steep wall. The tourist trail leading along it is secured with chains in the most exposed places. Below this threshold there is a second, smaller Pond pod Skokiem.
