The first document mentioning a date is a collection of charters from the Abbey of Stavelot-Malmédy, which shows that on March 12, 1228, Countess Ermesinde, a native of Luxembourg, undertook to return the fortress of Logne and the fortified house of Comblain to the abbey.

The tower was originally part of a fortress surrounded by defensive walls.
At the end of 1856, the tower lost its defensive function and was now used as the bell tower of the village church, which was dedicated to Saint Martin. Because of the arduous route to the church, a new church was built on Place Leblanc in the middle of the nineteenth century. As a result, the old church was demolished and the stones were reused in the construction of other buildings. However, the tower was saved from demolition by Abbot Bodson and was henceforth named Tour Saint-Martin.
The building was restored in 1993.
