The museum is closed in winter ⛞ but the surrounding nature is always worth a trip and you can discover what became of the area where the clay was once mined.

"Glindow has been part of Werder (Havel) since the Brandenburg municipal area reform in 2001. The place has been a center of the brick industry since the Middle Ages. The yellow clinker typical of the Mark Brandenburg was made from the Glindow clay."

The Förderverein Historische Ziegelei Glindow e.V. organizes expert tours of the Hoffmann ring kiln and the manual brick production during the specified museum opening times or by arrangement.

We were able to pay 6 € entry p.p. both visit the museum and take a guided tour of the brick factory.

The brickworks was once founded as a brickwork for invalids and was in regular operation until the end of the GDR. During the GDR era, flower pots were burned here.

After the reunification, the focus was on the production of small batches and special products for monument protection and is probably reasonably successful with it.

During the tour - just ask in the museum! - you can visit the drying rooms and the ring oven. You can even climb into the combustion chambers, which days before were fired at over 1000 degrees.

Definitely worth seeing!
