A specialty among the Lower Saxon village churches is the church to the east, above the town center on Thieberg. The simple hall building was added to an older round tower in the 15th century to the east, which with its partly walled-in narrow window slits and the remains of bay windows still serves as a defensive structure to this day Character of the tower reveals.
