    Graves of the Princely House of Büdingen
    There are also several graves or memorial stones in the area, e.g. for the princely Ysenburg chief forest officer Holleben-Lueg or for the dogs of Prince Otto Friedrich: Blanka, Birte and Patty.
    Next to the large sandstone cross is the grave of Otto Friedrich, Prince of Ysenburg and Büdingen (1904 - 1990) and his wife Felizitas, Princess of Ysenburg and Büdingen, Princess Reuss (1914 - 1989).
    Behind the sandstone cross and the gravestones there is a mighty sessile oak. According to Rainer Lippert's website monumentale-eichen.jimdo.com, this is the largest sessile oak in Germany.

      The princely graves are located in a park-like oak grove that borders Reffenstrasse. If you look at the bronze plaques on the gravestone boulders, then the cemetery was only established around 35 years ago. The first burial in 1985 was attended by European nobility, including the Spanish royal couple.

      From today's perspective, the princely grave of those in Ysenburg and Büdingen is also a place of broken hearts. The son of Prince Otto Friedrich died in March 1989 at the age of 49. His 75-year-old mother Felicitas followed him after just 3 months. A little more than a year later - in July 1990 - the elderly father also died.
