The border monument Hötensleben documents the condition of 1989 and is since January 1990 a historical monument. It is considered the best and most comprehensive testimony of the inner German border fortification. In Hötensleben the former border system before localities in the original condition to be visited. Since 2011, the facility with the memorial in Marienborn has been a European Heritage Site.
Distance to the bike path: approx. 43 km
The memorial area is freely accessible. Guided tours are possible.

Thanks for the tip. I "served" myself on this part of the border from 1975-1976. Not like, but I had to !! I know every meter and many memories are sure to come alive.
