Anyone using the B4 from Erfurt towards Nordhausen as a motorized vehicle will come through the small town of Greußen just before Sondershausen. Local people first think of the "Greussen salami". The aim was to explore a Germanic fortified settlement from the 2nd century BC to the 1st century AD. Parts of it were reconstructed true to the original and today shows the defense tower, gate building, long house, storage and residential buildings, surrounded by a palisade complex. An interesting look into the time of the early ancestors. Today managed by a club of modern Greussians with coffee and cake. A detour is worth it!
