I've been on the hiking trails between Niederkrüchten and Brüggen on Lake Born several times and I've always enjoyed taking a break here. Others have already written a lot of good things about the beauty of the lake and the landscape. I can only agree there.

Borner Lake was created in the 16th to 18th centuries by mining peat.

Through varied landscape you get to the Schwalm and finally back to the starting point. The lake was created in the 16th to 18th centuries by mining peat, which was used as fuel. The Kranenbach flushed a lot of soil into the lake, so that the lake finally silted up.
