    The ponds that are meant here are the Dauteweyers, a nature reserve of 11 hectares of several ponds that were created in the eighteenth century during the mining of iron ore. They are now interconnected and include tree frogs, kingfishers and great crested newts. The road on this side gives relatively little visibility and is not very comfortable unless you step straight between two of the ponds. The best walking path to admire the ponds and nature is on the opposite side.
