The panorama restaurant is currently closed due to the current situation. Nevertheless, the building enthroned on the Kulmberg remains a stage destination for hikers and spontaneous day trippers. The Kulmberg observation tower is in the immediate vicinity. The Kulmberghaus is to be converted into a 4-star hotel with conference facilities and an infinity pool by 2021/2022. The panorama restaurant is also being completely restored so that passionate Kulm friends, hikers and excursion guests can continue to reward themselves for their ascent here - with the usual good Thuringian cuisine and an even better view.

Beer garden at the Kulmberghaus - open since May 8th, 2021

Visitors to Saalfeld's local mountain can expect a magnificent view of Saalfeld and the Saale valley on lovingly laid out terraces. The team of the "Food-Station", with familiar and new faces of the Kulmberghaus, is very happy to spoil the visitors with all kinds of snacks and drinks. Due to the Corona, there is currently no classic beer garden with seating and service, but “To-Go” does not stand in the way of enjoying all the food and drinks on offer.

Opening hours:
WED-FRI from 11:00 a.m.
SAT, SUN and public holidays from 10:00 a.m.

The Kulmberghaus stands on the Kulm, the local mountain of Saalfeld and Rudolstadt. It was a hotel and was sold. A dental surgeon from Saalfeld probably bought it and is currently converting the building. A hotel with a panorama restaurant on the roof is being built for events and celebrations. It should be accessible again from October 2022. The adjacent beer garden has been redesigned and has been open again since March 2022.
