Antiga Estação Ernsthausen-Wambach

This used to be a stopping point on the railway line from Kirchhain to Gemünden/Wohra, always next to the small river Wohra, hence the name Wohratalbahn. After the Gemünden/Wohra train station, this then merged into the Kellerwaldbahn, which led to Zimmersrode. Zimmersrode is on the main Kassel-Marburg railway (Main-Weser Railway), and then continues via Gießen to Frankfurt/Main. The stopping point was prepared by the “Active Storks” association from Ernsthausen and is lovingly maintained by them. Unfortunately, rail traffic on this route was discontinued in the 1980s.
Another note, the HP Wambach was not a train station, just a stopping point!

The railway line Kirchhain - Gemünden (Wohratalbahn) was once approx. 19 km.
One of them, after about 9 km, was the Ernsthausen-Wambach train station.

Opened in 1914,
until 1972 passenger traffic,
until 1981 freight traffic,
Dismantled in 1982.
Railway house nicely renovated.
